“The Lodge was spectacular and the staff friendly, professional, and helpful. Within hours of arrival, they knew our names. The room was large, private, clean and very comfortable with a large deck overlooking the rainforest, a huge bathroom and our own private hot tub. We did many activities through the lodge (hiking, yoga, night walk, bird watching tour) and the guides were excellent. The food was delicious and very fresh. Each dish was beautifully plated and generous. 5 stars!”

“I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning. “The room was clean and spacious. The property is amazing with nature trails right outside your cabin and a beautiful garden with a talking parrot. The hotel/restaurant also has a few chickens and a turkey. The food at the restaurant was so authentic and some of the best food we ate in Costa Rica. I definitely recommend the tilapia. We ate at the restaurant for 3 of the 4 meals that we had when we were in the area because of how good and convenient it was. Would definitely recommend to anyone...

Uncle gave us a free night tour in his garden which was really sweet and informative. Loved the breakfast aunty prepared. “The location was perfect for seeing Rio Celeste and other rainforest tours. Everyone was really friendly and the food was great. Communication was somewhat interesting because I hadn’t brushed up on my Spanish enough but we made it work! The bed wasn’t super comfortable, shower didn’t get very hot and the walls weren’t exactly soundproof but for the price it was still a good value. I’d definitely stay here again!”
